Expertise:

Mr. Larned assists in settlement discussions for numerous casualty insurers, state agencies, and law firms. Chris conducts specialized training for negotiations using structured settlements. He has been in the structured settlement industry over 25 years serving Attorneys and Insurance companies around the United States. In addition to working with traditional physical personal Injury claims, Chris has found an increased interest in the evolving area of tax deferral in taxable recoveries and claims.

Experience:

He possesses an extensive knowledge of Workers Compensation and Medicare Set Aside Trusts as a Certified Medicare Settlement Specialist. In addition, he has spoken on subjects such as Special Needs Trusts, Charitable Pooled Trusts, retirement planning and catastrophic financial planning. Chris has concluded many complex Workers Compensation cases throughout New England and New York.

Chris has been a technical advisor for numerous articles regarding the New York State CPLR 50(a) & (b) statutes. Chris has lectured on this subject and annuity contracts in general throughout the Albany tri-city capital district. In addition, he has worked with The US Department of Justice representing the interest of the United States, with law firms, the State of New York and numerous insurance carriers.

Before joining Arcadia Settlements Group in 1997, Chris worked for Structured Benefits, Inc., an Aetna Casualty Insurance owned company, providing structured settlement services to Aetna P&C, USF&G and other clients. Chris has also provided structured settlement services in the Northeast for Settlement Services, Inc. and Merrill Lynch Settlement Services.  Prior to that, Chris worked as an investment consultant for Merrill Lynch.

Professional Memberships/Community Service:

Chris is a member of the National Structured Settlements Trade Association (NSSTA) and a member of its Political Action Committee. He has been a Speaker for the American Academy of Economic & Forensic Accountants. Chris is a past member of the Society of Insurance Accountants. Locally he has served on the Board of Barrington Little League and has long been involved in Scouting with Troop IV and the Narragansett Council in his hometown of Barrington, RI.
