Expertise:
Ray Maguire has expertise is developing customized structured settlement plans for all types of claims. He assists with negotiations, attends mediations and settlement conferences on automobile, general liability, commercial, medical mal practice and workers’ compensation claims. Ray applies his 23 years of resolving personal injury claims to develop comprehensive structured settlement plans to each individual case. He works as an advocate for the settlement process with the injured party and their family members, the insurance representative, plaintiff and defense attorneys. He can assist with analyzing future financial needs, lost wage projections, life care plans and vocational reports and provide a structured settlement solution.
Ray provides training and educates his clients in the use of structured settlements in negotiations as well as conducts seminars on settling liability and workers’ compensation claims using Medicare Set-Aside Allocations. He shows his attorney clients the financial and tax deferral benefits of structuring their attorney fees. Ray also works with the injured party’s family members, financial advisors, attorneys and accountants through a team approach to ensure that the injured party’s needs are met.
Experience:
Ray Maguire is a Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) with 23 years of liability claims and structured settlement experience. Prior to joining Arcadia, he worked for Financial Settlement Services as a Structured Settlement Consultant. While at Nationwide Insurance, he held the roles of Senior Claims Representative, Litigation Specialist, Special Claims Representative, Claims Supervisor, and Claims Manager. While in these roles, Ray handled first and third party auto liability claims, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, commercial and general liability claims. He has been directly involved in many personal injury settlement negotiations and mediations.
Licenses/Certifications:
Ray holds life, health and disability license in many states. Ray earned his Certified Structured Settlement Consultant (CSSC) designation in conjunction with the Executive Education Program at the University of Notre Dame.
Education:
Ray graduated from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees. He later earned a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Robert Morris University. Ray has also completed the Pepperdine University School of Law Negotiation and Claims Settlement for Insurance Professionals course.
