Dan Schmittgens is a Structured Settlement consultant, negotiating structured settlements nationwide. He conducts specialized training or negotiations using structured settlements. His practice areas are: General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Medical Malpractice. He works primarily with defense carriers and self-insured clients.

Experience:

Dan Schmittgens has been involved in settlements in nearly every state and has over 30 years of claims and structured settlement experience. Dan joined Arcadia and established the Naperville, Illinois office in 2006. Prior to joining the Company, he was a Settlement Consultant with another firm, Cambridge-Galaher from 1988-2006. Other companies that Dan has been with include: Self-Insurers Services, Inc. (Chicago and Las Vegas) from 1986 to 1988 and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company (Chicago) from 1980 to 1986.

Licenses:

Dan holds a life license in multiple states.

Education/Certifications:

He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics, with a Minor in Business Administration from Illinois State University in 1980.  Dan attended the inaugural class and earned his Certified Medicare Settlement Specialist (CMSS™) designation in March, 2016. He is also a Certified Workers’ Compensation Settlement Specialist (WCSS).
