Expertise:

Specializing in workers’ compensation, complex litigation and medical malpractice, Mr. Carroll’s cases have included the MGM fire in Las Vegas, the Jack in the Box e. coli cases in Seattle, the Kansas City Hyatt Hotel collapse, California’s Loma Prieta and Northridge Earthquakes, the California Catholic Diocese molestation cases and the PG & E San Bruno fire explosion.  Mr. Carroll has also worked with the Innocence Project representing clients in wrongful incarceration cases.

Rich works with clients throughout the United States. His expertise includes all forms of settlement planning with an emphasis on medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, personal injury liability and wrongful incarceration.

Experience:

Rich opened the first structured settlement office in San Francisco in 1980, which remains his main office today. Mr. Carroll also maintains an office in the Los Angeles Metro area. He is ranked among the top consultants in the Arcadia Settlements Group and has helped settle thousands of cases throughout the country.

Licenses/Training:

Mr. Carroll holds life, health and disability licenses in multiple states. He conducts specialized training for negotiation using structured settlements and has provided expert witness testimony on annuities in trials in California and Washington.

Education/Personal Information:

Rich grew up in Syracuse, New York where he played baseball and basketball. He studied at Trinity College, Dublin, graduated from St. Mary’s College in California and holds an MSSA from Notre Dame. An avid reader and sports enthusiast, Rich and his wife Nancy have 4 children; Duncan, Tom, Brandon and Allison; 3 grandchildren, Landen, Carsen & Arthur. One dog: Duke.
